Luxury Cruise Project

FURUI CIT delivered 2x2320m³ LNG fuel tanks and 2x1800m³ LNG fuel tanks in August 2020 and July 2021 respectively. The two batches of equipment will provide clean energy power for luxury cruise MSC-Europa and MSC-Euribia, helping MSC achieve its environmental protection and emission reduction plans.

The MSC-Europa is the first LNG vessel to join the MSC fleet, costing over €1 billion and will be the largest LNG-powered cruise ship in the world. The vessel, scheduled for delivery in October 2022, will incorporate numerous eco-friendly features, such as solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), a selective catalytic reduction system, and enhanced shore-to-ship power capability. MSC Europa will debut on the Arabian Sea in winter 2022/23 and will be leased by the Qatari government as a temporary reception hotel during the World-Cup-2022. In March 2023, the ship will head to the Mediterranean, visiting several Italian ports. MSC Euribia, which also has similar eco-friendly credentials, will spend its inaugural season in Northern Europe from the German port of Kiel starting from June 2023. Both MSC World Europa and MSC Euribia will be powered by LNG fuel, which is expected to eliminate local air pollutant emissions like SOx and reduces NOx by up to 85%.

MSC Europa is equipped with two FURUI 2320m³ LNG fuel tanks. This type of fuel tank adopts bi-lobe structure and PUF insulation design, which maximizes the use of the tank room. The two-tank and bi-lobe redundant design fully guarantees the safety of passengers and crew on board while providing sufficient power. The technical content and manufacturing difficulty of the TCS pipeline attached to the fuel tank have reached the highest level in the industry. The MSC Euribia is equipped with two of FURUI 1800m³ LNG fuel tanks, which use the same design concept and further optimize and improve of previous success.

The luxury cruise LNG fuel tank products have become the Star-Series products of FURUI CIT. It shows the 14 years of experience and technology accumulation of FURUI CIT, which reflects the development concept of FURUI CIT with “take products as the core”, “technology going first”, “quality assurance”. The follow-up luxury cruise fuel tank in FURUI CIT workshop is under intensive construction, providing a more environmentally friendly choice for people enjoying life.
